Frank Dean has been involved in music as both a musician and
guitar specialist for nearly 30 years. He decided to open a guitar
store based on the music merchants of the ’50s & ’60s. A store
where you could walk in and pick up a guitar without feeling the high
pressure of today’s soulless “warehouse” type stores. Brent Bennett,
after instructing at the store for a couple of years, took over the
store with the same attitude, and Frank stayed on as manager.
We like to think that when folks come in our store, it feels like they’ve
been stopping in for years. Everyone is free to pull up a stool, grab
his or her guitar of choice and, as Jethro Bodine so eloquently said,
“commence to commencin’.”
Our store is musician-friendly, and it seems like there’s always some
kind of musical discussion going on with the regulars, so feel free to
jump right in. (Political views are also welcome as long as they don’t
conflict with ours.)

locating used and hard-to-find stuff.
There’s also a full range of strings, straps, capos and accessories
for all your guitar needs.
We’ve also accumulated a ridiculous amount of memorabilia and
photos over the years of entertainers, guitar ads and the like, so feel
free to check out some yesteryear fun.
We’re located at 55 East Jefferson St. in beautiful downtown
Franklin, Indiana. We have on-street parking, plus there’s a public
parking lot just west of the store.
If there’s a parade going on or some small-town celebration of some
sort, just park a block away and take in the festivities. We highly
recommend the Dachshund races in October.
So stop in and hang out for a spell. There’s usually coffee or pop
around. Frank and Brent are always here to help or advise. And you
have our promise that no one will attempt to push anything down
your throat.
